Ode to Rome. From the day Romulus and Remus begun chasing bad guys, Rome was meant to be a low crime area. Romans then built lots of roads, mostly to quicken up some kind of police service. They had 7 hills from which to look, so they could identify who did crimes from a distance. Then that what was Rome: a police HQ, next to a coliseum. Every police maintains a standard. That's what police stands for, as in "policy". When we get roads, we win access to some parts of the world securely and quick. Romans also brought lots of chariots (primitive car cabins pulled by horses) to the world. And we can hardly imagine chariots rolling on something else than a road. Before we would drive modern day cars and reach international peace, there were roaming Romans.
