============================================= The curse of England/the origin of pirates. ============================================= You should know that the English (also called Brits) not so long ago controlled about 1/3 of planet Earth's inhabited lands. Today, those guys still exerce a fierce grip on every Commonwealth member, which makes up for about 1/3 of all inhabited land. This control is achieved through a superior economic system and advantageous deals coming therein to every "allied" nation in the Commonwealth deal. However, those nations today have economical and demographical problems, instead of warfare/cohesion/neighborhood problem assumptions. Among the most recent additions to the colonial british empire was India, which indeed shows a superior political system over many others, enabling the cohabitation of many different religions. Obviously that demographic evolution comes from the earlier assimilation of Canada which had a confederation of nations, each sporting its own culture, political system and beliefs. The conquest of Canada was completed while that of India was just beginning. The English, obviously to the world, thus occupy a very special position in the world which sprouts from their homeland and makes them superb merchants and capitalists. England is, truth be told, but a large island, filled with fog, and to me shall be very gloomy to live on, a very disgusting and discouraging place indeed, that makes its inhabitants wish for greener pastures. That is what, I believe, brought the Brits to fare seas and trade goods with other nations. Those powerful sailors ultimately gained supremacy over the Meditarranean Sea trade, beating the Italics (and the catholic army), just in the dusk of the middle ages, from the hands of, no wonder here, a french blooded british pirate called Sir Francis Drake. Throughout the course of human history, the Englishmen then went to overcome French occupation in North America, assumedly due to a system that included the Hudson Bay company and its infamous, two inch thick catalogs. It is mostly why, today, Canada is still seen as an anti-christian, devilish, capitalist country and is included to the G7, even though it has a somewhat supervised democracy and non conformist parties in seats of power among some of its provinces (which you could call "limited states" as well). For a long time, the dominant political system in Canada was truely paganism, which means here, just leaving its inhabitants (peasants) on small land shares with little to no resource and heavily watched roads so that they would lose faith and submit to the rule of market, work for money and buy themselves whatever they needed to survive and find happiness at the local shop(s). You could understand here, that the minimal presence of shops in cities of British-sold nations was the more often than not made possible by the English crown itself and its lieutenants in Canada (occasionally lending some money to the shop owners so they would "look good" and soothe the land's folk). Even though that seems very twisted and evil to do, it is the system which prevailed as the optimal solution to manage small and large scale conflicts on multiple territories of planet Earth, including Canada of course, and some critical parts of Africa. In the distant future, it is likely that England will be left uninhabited, except by birds and other animals, so that no more innocent newly born human gets himself/herself locked in the "curse of capitalism", for we have moved on to a freeier, straighter, fitter, happier milllenium.
